ABHOGADITI:

OUR APPROACH TO YOGA PRACTICE &  AUTHENTIC SHARING/TEACHING OF THAT PRACTICE

Awakening the Teacher Within offers a 10- month long, 250 hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training that qualifies the graduating participant for Yoga Alliance Registration at the primary level.

We also offer Yoga Alliance approved workshops; classes; and retreats that provide CEU's for those already registered to help with Yoga Alliance registration re-newal.

All of our offerings are taught in the Abhogaditi style of Hatha Yoga. This style is not new, but unique in that it emphasizes a strong home practice that then facilitates a deeper experience of the teachings and a profound shift toward an awakening within our participants of their unique potential to come into a deeper personal understanding of yoga philosophy & practice, and feel empowered to authentically share & express that practice as it creatively unfolds moment by joyful moment.

Abhoga means joyful expansion, spiritual delight. Aditi symbolized limitlessness, freedom, unfettered, non-attached. The two joined together playfully interact to become Abhogaditi.

So the idea of Abhogaditi is to allow for all possibilities and potentialities (consciousness) to bubble up in the space provided by a deeply mindful home practice. To come into the fullness, the joy of the practice formally, and then to informally share that practice by living it beyond the confines of the yoga mat.

Hatha Yoga techniques such as shatkarmas, asanas, pranayama, relaxation and other techniques as well as yoga and mindfulness based philosophy are taught and utilized in a way that facilitate an ability to utilize the teachings so that  they work... are good teachings.

A sound knowledge base garnered through personal experiences and mindful observations that facilitate compassion, loving-kindness and  greater awareness are the criteria we use to determine each offerings    effectiveness.

When determining if one of our offerings is right for you, think about your personality and how you best learn.

Our offerings are deeply personal.  We teach only what we know from experience and we encourage our participants to do the same. We do not try and cram everything there is to know into our teachings. We feel that  a few solid, foundational ideas presented thoroughly is a more intelligent approach. Our thought, from experience, is that we learn best when matierial is deeply personal, authentically experienced, concise, clear, & organized.

We want our teachings to be a positive experience that is achievable & empowering. This is not to say that our offerings are not filled with information, but just that they do not attempt to teach every technique, every style, every philosophy, every single thing about a specific topic.

Our culture already over values the 'do more, teach more, include more' mentality. This can be a stressful approach for some,  that we do not feel is in the best interest of learners whether new or seasoned.

Our appoach is to sit with basic teachings and learn them well. When you complete one of our workshops or trainings you will have a deeper understanding of  how to incoprorate the teachings into your personal practice of yoga as well as share the teachings skillfully to others. You can also use the hours as CEU's to renew with Yoga Alliance.

Please contact us (Jeri at 740-502-4410), if you would like to have more information and/or assistance on determining if any of our offerings are right for you.

Our style of training is not for everyone. The nature of going deeper into a few concepts can facilitate deep shifts and many experience profound insights and transformations, i.e., "stuff" comes up.
